Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Collection Operator to support the Multiport AI Research data collection effort. In this role, you will collect critical motion data on the DaVinci Surgical Robot, assist with engineering operations, and maintain precise data organization. This is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic about medical robotics and cutting-edge technology to help build safe, capable, and autonomous surgical systems., * Data Collection & System Operation: Perform precise data collection tasks on the DaVinci Surgical Robot, including object manipulation, tabletop tasks, and soft-tissue simulation.

  • Console Execution: Operate the DaVinci Surgeon Console to execute specific movements and actions based on project requirements.
  • Technical Oversight: Start/stop recording devices, perform minor hardware and software debugging, and assist with basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Analyze, organize, and upload collected data. Write clear daily reports detailing observations, technical issues, and task progress.
  • Safety & Collaboration: Maintain equipment in safe working condition, follow strict safety protocols, and maintain proactive communication with the engineering team and leadership.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Robotics, or a related discipline).
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn new software and robotic technologies quickly.
  • Precision & Coordination: Exceptional hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and an eye for detail to complete precise surgical-style manipulation tasks.
  • Execution & Judgement: Ability to follow precise technical instructions, learn common robotic motion profiles, and make sound data-driven judgment calls.
  • Communication: Strong observational skills with the ability to write clear, structured daily reports and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary engineering team., * Bachelor’s (Required), * Basic hardware/software troubleshooting & debugging: 2 years (Required)
  • Hands-on skills with robotic systems or fine motor tasks?: 2 years (Required)
  • DaVinci Surgeon Console: 1 year (Required)
