APPLICATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The Applications Support Specialist provides Tier 2 operational support for the organization’s portfolio of business applications. As part of the IT Service Delivery team, this role partners with end users, IT Support Technicians, ERP Administration, and business departments to resolve application issues, improve user adoption, and promote consistent business processes.

This position bridges IT Service Delivery and Business Applications by combining application support, operational coaching, knowledge management, and continuous improvement to maximize the value of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities Application Support

• Serve as the Tier 2 escalation point for business application incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot application functionality, workflows, and transaction issues.
• Coordinate with ERP Administration and vendors to resolve complex issues.

User Enablement

• Provide operational coaching to users on business applications.
• Develop training materials and knowledge articles.
• Conduct user training and support adoption initiatives.

Business Process Support

• Assist departments with application-related process improvements.
• Promote consistent use of standard business processes.
• Identify recurring support trends and recommend solutions.

Epicor & Enterprise Applications

• Support Epicor Kinetic and related enterprise applications.
• Participate in testing, upgrades, deployments, and enhancement initiatives.
• Assist with validation and user acceptance testing.

Service Delivery

• Work closely with IT Support Technicians to resolve escalated incidents.
• Partner with the Technical Support Specialist when technical issues impact application functionality.
• Coordinate with the ERP Analyst/Admin for configuration changes and advanced ERP support.
• Maintain application support documentation and operational procedures.

• Experience supporting ERP or other enterprise business applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train users, develop documentation, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Epicor ERP/Kinetic or a comparable ERP platform.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, and IT Service Management (ITIL) practices.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or system enhancements.
