Job description

Fabletics is seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer II to join our team remotely. This role focuses on the development, enhancement, and maintenance of application systems that drive innovation and growth on the Evolve (WMS) platform. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong follow-through abilities, capable of optimizing workflows and documenting changes clearly.

This position will report to the Sr Director, Engineering & QA - Evolve.

What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs that integrate with internal and external systems, mobile applications, and warehouse devices.
  • Collaborate with front-end and mobile teams to deliver end-to-end features that enhance warehouse workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to the software development lifecycle and best practices.
  • Design, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures against a large, distributed system.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to interface with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Collaborate with platform architects and engineers to ensure optimal database and system performance.
  • Create effective documentation for stored procedures, database logic, and APIs.
  • Ensure scalable debugging, triage, monitoring, and defect resolution
  • Foster trust and accountability within the team, contributing positively to day-to-day activities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing, developing and scaling large scale back-end systems
  • 2+ years of experience developing scalable backend services using Node.js (TypeScript knowledge is a plus).
  • Familiarity with message queues or event-driven architecture (Kafka preferred).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture.
  • Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedure development, and performance tuning in large transactional environments.
  • Ideal candidate brings foundational AI literacy, including experience using generative AI tools, and a proactive mindset to experiment with new technologies to drive productivity and innovation.

*Varied for retail, fulfillment and fully remote roles.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $120,000-$140,000. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
