These include: Bullish Exchange - a regulated and institutionally focused digital assets spot and derivatives exchange, integrating a high-performance central limit order book matching engine with automated market making to provide deep and predictable liquidity. CoinDesk Indices - a collection of tradable proprietary and single-asset benchmarks and indices that track the performance of digital assets for global institutions in the digital assets and traditional finance industries. CoinDesk Data - a broad suite of digital assets market data and analytics, providing real-time insights into prices, trends, and market dynamics. CoinDesk Insights - a digital asset media and events provider and operator of Coindesk.com, a digital media platform that covers news and insights about digital assets, the underlying markets, policy, and blockchain technology.

The Team: CoinDesk Media Engineering

Our Media Engineering team is the technical engine behind the world’s leading digital asset information platform. They are responsible for the architecture, development, and continuous optimization of coindesk.com and its accompanying mobile applications, ensuring millions of global users have seamless access to real-time news, market data, and multimedia content.

We’re looking for Senior Software Engineers with expertise in Node.js and React to help build our next-generation media products. This role is all about designing and building innovative products that deliver crypto news, insights, and experiences to millions of users, with a focus on user experience, modern engineering practices, and continuous iteration. You’ll be working on products that distribute and personalize content, making CoinDesk a daily habit for crypto enthusiasts and investors. This includes building high-performance and scalable backend systems and engaging web and mobile experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain back-end services and React front-end applications that power real-time content delivery, monetization, and interactive features across web and mobile.
• Build and integrate AI-powered agentic workflows into our products and internal tooling, leveraging LLMs and emerging AI capabilities.
• Work with product teams to improve SEO strategies, optimize page speed, and ensure best practices for web performance and indexing.
• Instrument features, analyze outcomes, and iterate based on data, working closely with designers, product managers, and editors to build user-centric products.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on expertise in React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering, content caching, and web performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including services like Cloud Run, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Strong experience with automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience building with AI agents, LLM integrations, or agentic development patterns (e.g., tool use, RAG, multi-step workflows).
• A data-driven mindset - comfortable with analytics tooling, A/B testing, and using metrics to inform engineering and product decisions.
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
• Expertise in secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Experience with large-scale content platforms or digital media.
• Strong ability to work across teams, engage stakeholders, and contribute to product vision.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with React Native for mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Sanity CMS or other headless CMS solutions.
• Experience with Vercel, including deployment workflows, edge functions, and serverless architecture.
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and SEO best practices, including technical SEO auditing and optimization.
• Experience integrating ad management systems, paywalls, or data analytics tools into content platforms.

Bullish US LLC & CoinDesk Inc. are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $180,000 - $230,000 + discretionary annual target bonus + performance incentives/benefits. Offered salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
