Google’s line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google’s partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google’s newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Alongside the Learning and Education Product and Go-To-Market teams, our Strategic Partnerships team is at the forefront of this mission, responsible for building the strategy and partnerships required to bring transformative technology to the global education community in a safe and responsible way.
As a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, you will oversee partnerships that enable our product roadmap, understand interoperability, and drive the Google for Education business. You will have a focus on read along, Learning Management Systems (LMS) integrations, and teacher adoption programs. Across this set of priorities, you will work with a cross-functional set of stakeholders to build our partnership strategy and guide partnerships that impact the quality of our products and our ability to reach students and teachers globally.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google’s partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products., * Drive partner strategy, including working closely with Product, technical teams, and go-to-market (GTM) to understand product and business strategy, conducting partner/industry research, and driving alignment on prioritization based on data-driven criteria.
- Leverage knowledge of the ecosystem, education and EdTech trends, and feedback from partners to influence the product roadmap and cross-functional team priorities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners, from the C-Suite to day-to-day working teams including understanding partners’ business and product strategy, identifying new opportunities for collaboration and influencing direction of the partnership, and managing regular touchpoints to stay up-to-date on active projects.
- Negotiate first-in-kind partnerships, manage execution across Google and Partner product, marketing and GTM teams.
- Lead and make decisions amidst cross-functional, organizational, and industry complexity, to bring open issues to resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, management consulting or investment banking, with experience in education or education technology.
- 2 years of experience working in higher education or with higher education institutions in a partnerships, sales or management consulting role.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships., * Master’s degree or other advanced degree.
- Experience managing partnerships.
- Understanding of AI.
- Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Benefits & conditions
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$256,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
