Job description

We are currently supporting a partner, a large hospitality group based in Berlin, to overhaul their financial reporting and data architecture. Their data comes from dozens of different property management systems and legacy databases, which often leads to conflicting reports. As a Junior Data Quality Analyst, you will play a practical part in identifying these discrepancies and helping our senior consultants implement a clean, reliable data environment. This is a full-time, permanent position and is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive. About Alpine Business Consulting We believe in transparency and predictability. While many firms use client projects as a training ground for junior staff, we pair our newer team members directly with seasoned experts who have seen every implementation mistake in the book. We prioritize documentation that a client team can actually use, and we favor fixed-price results over endless billable hours. Our goal is always a clean handover. We want to give the company the training and configuration guides they need to remain independent once our work is done., Working as a Junior Data Quality Analyst means focusing on the small details that make or break a financial system. You will help monitor the data flowing from the hospitality group properties into their central reporting tool. Your daily work will involve identifying missing records, investigating why certain figures do not align between systems, and assisting with the cleanup of master data like vendor lists or chart of accounts. In this role, you will do the following:

  • Review daily data integration logs to identify and document errors or failures.
  • Perform manual audits on data sets to find duplicates, formatting inconsistencies, and outdated entries.
  • Assist in the creation of data dictionaries and configuration guides for the client team.
  • Work with senior consultants to map data fields from legacy systems to new analytics platforms.
  • Test data validation rules to ensure that incorrect information is caught before it enters the reporting layer.
  • Update internal documentation to reflect changes in data processing workflows.
  • Participate in remote team meetings to discuss progress on the Berlin hospitality project.
  • Help prepare data quality reports that summarize the health of the system for client stakeholders.

Requirements

This is an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who is naturally organized and enjoys the process of finding and fixing errors in large sets of information. You do not need years of professional experience, but you should be comfortable working with numbers and technical tools. Because we are a fully remote team, strong written communication and the ability to manage your own schedule are essential. Helpful background includes:

  • A basic understanding of Excel, including how to use formulas like VLOOKUP or pivot tables to compare data.
  • Interest in data management, finance, or business analytics.
  • An eye for detail: you should be the kind of person who notices when a single number is out of place.
  • Familiarity with basic SQL queries or a willingness to learn how to write them.
  • Education in a field like business, information systems, or mathematics is useful but not required if you have relevant project experience.
  • Ability to follow technical documentation and configuration guides accurately.
  • A direct and plain-spoken communication style.

Benefits & conditions

Alpine Business Consulting provides a professional environment where the focus is on doing the job right rather than corporate fluff. This position is paid, and the compensation is competitive for the entry-level market. You will gain real-world experience by working on a complex project for a significant hospitality group, learning exactly how enterprise-scale data systems function under the hood. Since we are a remote-first company, you will have flexibility in your work environment while still receiving regular guidance and mentorship from our senior consulting team. Our focus is on clean data and reliable systems. We avoid the high-pressure, frantic atmosphere often found in large agencies. Instead, we offer a steady environment where documentation and logic are valued. If you enjoy the challenge of turning messy data into a single source of truth, you will find this role rewarding.

About the company

Alpine Business Consulting specializes in fixing enterprise performance management and reporting systems that have lost their way. Often, companies invest in complex planning tools only to find that the implementation was rushed, leaving finance teams with data that does not match and month-end closes that take far too long. We step in to configure these systems properly or build new ones from the beginning. Our consultants have spent years working with Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks, focusing on providing a single source of truth that clients can trust every morning.
