Data Analyst Assistant

We are looking for a Data Analyst Assistant to support our team as we manage a significant project for a Brussels-based international partner. In this role, you will help ensure that financial data remains accurate and usable for reporting across various enterprise platforms. This is a fully remote position where precision and attention to detail are the highest priorities. About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation. What You Will Do

• Assist with the mapping and validation of data as it moves between source systems and EPM platforms.
• Clean and organize large datasets to ensure they meet specific financial reporting requirements.
• Help create and update technical documentation for financial reporting pipelines and data models.
• Support the testing of system rules for consolidations and intercompany eliminations to ensure accuracy.
• Build basic reports and visuals in Excel or Power BI to help visualize financial trends and discrepancies.
• Perform routine audits of financial numbers to ensure they match across different systems to the cent.
• Track the progress of data remediation tasks and maintain organized project logs.
• Collaborate with consultants to prepare training materials for client finance teams.

• A basic understanding of finance or accounting principles, including how balance sheets and income statements function.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, specifically with functions, pivot tables, and data organization.
• A high level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking work for errors.
• Natural technical curiosity and a willingness to learn how enterprise systems like SAP or Oracle operate.
• Clear written communication skills for producing manuals and project notes.
• The ability to manage your own time and stay focused in a fully remote environment.
• A logical mindset when troubleshooting why data might not be reconciling correctly.
• Prior experience with basic data visualization or SQL is helpful but not required.
