Job description
Autodesk is seeking a Senior Principal Experience Designer to join the Data Delivery group within AEC Construction. Data Delivery is responsible for ensuring high-quality construction and project data is delivered to customers and internal products quickly, reliably, and in forms that support decision-making, analytics, and insight. The team owns and coordinates critical capabilities such as AEC Platform and Product Home experiences, dashboards, reports, and analytics, forming the backbone of how trustworthy, timely data is surfaced across Autodeskās cloud ecosystem.
In this role, you will define and drive the experience vision for Data Delivery, shaping how data services connect to and enable core platform workflows across Autodeskās AEC cloud applications. You will operate at a system level-designing complex, cross-platform workflows, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Design leaders, and ensuring a cohesive, scalable experience across web and mobile surfaces.
As a Senior Principal Designer, you are expected to lead through vision, influence, and execution. You will mentor early- and mid-career designers, represent Data Delivery design in cross-org forums and workshops, and help raise the bar for experience quality across the platform. You thrive in ambiguity, can navigate broad problem spaces, and are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on design work.
This role reports to a UX Manager in the AEC Construction Platform organization.
Preference for candidates in Toronto to work hybrid/remote, but open to fully remote PT to ET zone across Canada., * Define and drive the end-to-end experience vision for the Data Delivery platform
- Design and evolve complex, cross-platform workflows across web and mobile
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and other Designers across AEC Construction to align on shared outcomes
- Serve as a design leader and mentor, supporting the growth of early- and mid-career designers
- Lead and participate in design critiques, ensuring high standards for usability, consistency, and craft
- Collaborate with UX Research to ensure design decisions are grounded in user needs, data, and insights
- Help teams prioritize work that delivers the greatest value to customers and the platform
- Develop strong domain expertise in data visualization, analytics, and information design, contributing a clear design point of view to roadmap discussions
- Represent Data Delivery design in cross-functional workshops, reviews, and strategic conversations
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience as a UX / Product / Experience Designer
- Experience designing SaaS or cloud-based products
- Strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, cross-team environments, * Experience designing data-rich products, dashboards, analytics, or reporting experiences
- Strong background in data visualization and information design
- Demonstrated ability to use customer research and feedback to inform and validate design decisions
- Experience operating at a platform or systems level, beyond individual features or screens
