Independent IT Field Technician

We are looking for a dependable and experienced IT Field Technician to provide on-site and remote technical support for our independently owned franchise locations. This is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity, with work assigned on an as-needed basis.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, communicates well with business owners and employees, and can be available to troubleshoot issues by phone before determining whether an on-site visit is needed.

What You’ll Do

• Provide on-site technical support for POS systems and IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 computers, software, and hardware issues.
• Install and support POS equipment, including receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, and other peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve basic network issues involving routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and shared devices.
• Install and terminate CAT5e/CAT6 network cabling, Ethernet jacks, and maintain clean cable management.
• Work with RJ11 wiring, serial connections, and daisy-chain communication when needed.
• Install and troubleshoot basic commercial audio systems, including amplifiers, speakers, wiring, and volume controls.
• Recommend appropriate computers, networking equipment, and POS hardware for franchise locations.
• Provide clear documentation and communicate effectively with franchise owners regarding completed work and recommendations.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
• Hands-on experience with POS systems and peripheral devices is preferred.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Good wiring and cabling skills.
• Professional, punctual, and dependable.
• Respectful and courteous when working with franchise owners, employees, and customers.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.
• Easy to reach by phone and responsive when troubleshooting support is needed.

$25 - $50 an hour - Contract, This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You will be paid directly by the individual franchise owner for the work you perform. Work is assigned on an as-needed basis, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours. Background check is required.
