Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida (The FOUNDATION) is currently searching for a service-minded, mission-driven individual to fulfill the following position: Development Manager who will be responsible for finding funding opportunities and maximizing the corporate donor experience.
This role requires an engaging professional who can focus on creating development plans, facilitate donor fundraising, and research, draft, and submit grant proposals. The candidate in this role will work closely with the Board of Directors and internal team members to build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and others within the community.
This is a part-time position with the majority of the work done from home with the ability to work both scheduled and flexible work hours, including some evenings/weekends. The flexibility of the work is based on business needs/duties and/or other functions throughout Central Florida.
Development Manager Responsibilities:
- The Development Manager will work with the Board of Directors to set and execute strategic fundraising plans. Plans should include benchmark milestones on financial results, relationship development goals, year-round engagement and donor stewardship processes.
- Oversee, plan and execute annual fundraising initiatives to achieve revenue goals
- Discover grant opportunities and collaborate with internal team members to manage grant creation and submissions.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors and others within the community
- Focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding current and prospective corporate donors
- Maintain account financial projections, donor engagement visits and other key campaign metrics. Provide regular and accurate reporting
- Be knowledgeable about fundraising platforms and tools available to corporate partners and guide use of these platforms to meet organizational goals
- Communicate with our members, volunteers, partners, and donors to understand their needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of fundraising/grant writing experience.
- Experience managing and directing a team.
- Experience recruiting and managing volunteers and/or interns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Dedication to provide great customer service.
- High levels of organization and prioritization
- Weekend/Evening hours, position allows for flex schedule/work from home., * Bachelor’s (Preferred), * Management: 1 year (Preferred)
- Grant Writing / Development: 2 years (Required)
- Fundraising: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver’s License (Required)
