Job description

The Director of Software Engineering - FinTech leads the development and delivery of financial systems, including payments, account servicing, KYC/KYB, fraud detection, and lending platforms. This leadership role advises executive management and provides high-level consulting to influence business initiatives. What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams delivering financial systems, including payments, account servicing, KYC/KYB, fraud detection, and lending platforms
  • Define and drive the technical strategy, architecture, and operational plans for FinTech engineering in alignment with enterprise goals
  • Ensure systems are designed and maintained for compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Type 2, SOX, GLBA, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Implement enterprise-grade engineering processes, including SDLC governance, CI/CD, security by design, and operational resilience best practices
  • Partner closely with InfoSec, Legal, and Risk teams to proactively manage risk, privacy, and regulatory compliance across platforms
  • Own key engineering KPIs for system availability, scalability, delivery velocity, quality, and security
  • Drive modernization initiatives for cloud migration, microservices architecture, and API-first development
  • Act as a key engineering voice with senior leadership to influence product, technology, and investment priorities

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience. Extensive experience with cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure), distributed systems, and high-volume transaction platforms
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on leadership experience specifically building and operating FinTech systems (payments, lending, fraud, identity, compliance)
  • Strong expertise with highly regulated environments and external audit requirements (PCI, SOC 2, SOX)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to lead globally distributed engineering teams within large, matrixed organizations
  • Experience in enterprise B2B2C financial ecosystems or embedded finance platforms, preferred
  • Exposure to data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and secure software development practices (SSDLC), preferred

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
