Job description

  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance and support of SDW mid-tier application running on mainframe.
  • Monitor SDW performance and address issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Manage bug fixes, patches, and updates to ensure applications remain secure and functional.
  • Ensure seamless integration between SDW, MOCAS and Oracle DB.
  • Manage middleware components, such as transaction processing systems (e.g., MQ Series) and data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to maintain data flow and system interoperability.
  • Monitor application performance using tools and metrics to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Optimize application configurations and middleware settings to improve performance and scalability.
  • Conduct regular health checks and audits of application environment.
  • Lead resolution of incidents and service requests related to SDW.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Act as escalation point for unresolved issues and coordinate with other teams or vendors as needed.
  • Manage changes to SDW mid-tier, including updates, enhancements, and configuration modifications.
  • Ensure all changes are documented, tested, and approved before implementation.
  • Maintain version control and configuration management to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Ensure SDW complies with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement security measures to protect applications and their data from unauthorized access or threats.
  • Stay updated on emerging security risks and best practices to safeguard applications.
  • Test and validate recovery procedures to ensure readiness for unexpected events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business continuity in case of application disruptions.

Requirements

Years of Experience: 10+ years’ professional experience in IT or related field

Clearance Level & Investigation: Tier 3 or equivalent (ADP/IT-II)

IT Level (AR 25-2): IT-II or NACLC

IA Cert Level (DoD 8570.01): IAT Level II

Computing Environment Certifications: Relevant certification from nationally recognized authority (preferred), * 10+ years of overall professional experience in IT or related field.

  • Requires knowledge and expertise with the following: Application Maintenance and Support for Mid-Tier Systems; System Integration and Middleware Management; Performance Monitoring and Optimization; Incident Management and Troubleshooting; Change Management and Configuration Control; Troubleshooting and Incident Management; Documentation and Reporting; Capacity Planning and Scalability; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.

Required Clearance:

  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).

Certifications:

  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority preferred.
  • DoW Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II.
