Data Center Technician I

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Rack installation
• Rack preparation
• Device scanning
• White glove service
• Vendor interactions and management
• Printing labels
• Using computer, Excel, and Outlook for emails
• Project management and creating cut sheets for vendors
• Cabling work

Daily Schedule:

• The site is transitioning to a 4*10 schedule (10 hours a day, 4 days/week)to optimize shift cohesion. Headcount will be split between:
• Front Half: Sunday to Wednesday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
• Back Half: Wednesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
• Note: Wednesday is an overlap day for both shifts

• Cabling experience and server rack intake experience
• 1+ year of data center experience
• Fiber optic and copper cabling, testing equipment, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to install, test, inventory, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords
• Open to candidates with an Associate degree in Information Technology and 6 months of DC experience
• Military/army/marines background considered if relevant to cabling, server racks, or fiber optic environments
• Personal service and vendor management skills.

Nice to Have:

• Linux troubleshooting
• TCP/IP networks
• Network A+ certification, * Experience in Rack installation
