Job description
Coastal Employment is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician for a valued manufacturing client. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-service mindset. The IT Technician will play a key role in supporting daily business operations by maintaining computer systems, assisting employees with technical issues, and ensuring reliable technology performance throughout the organization., The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting computer hardware, software, and network-connected devices. This position provides technical support to office and warehouse personnel while assisting with system setup, software installation, user account management, and coordination with external IT resources when necessary., * Configure and set up computers for new and existing employees.
- Add computers and devices to the company network and domain.
- Install and configure software based on employee roles and business needs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, scanner, and network-related issues.
- Provide technical support for office computers, warehouse scanners, and peripheral devices.
- Install and replace monitors, docking stations, and other computer hardware as needed.
- Coordinate with corporate IT teams regarding network changes, system updates, and escalated technical issues.
- Work with internet service providers and third-party vendors to resolve connectivity or infrastructure issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and preventative care on computer systems.
- Document technical issues and resolutions while maintaining accurate IT records.
- Support Microsoft Office applications and assist users with general software-related questions.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach while supporting employees across multiple departments.
- Follow all company security policies, IT procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience supporting Windows-based computer systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, computer domain management, and basic networking is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology is preferred but not required.
- Previous IT support or help desk experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be able to:
- Sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Lift and move computers, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Bend, kneel, and reach while installing or servicing equipment.
- Use hands and fingers to connect cables, install hardware, and operate computer equipment.
- Clearly communicate technical information to employees with varying levels of computer knowledge.
- Read and interpret technical documentation and system information.
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
