Job description

MTSI is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Digital Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in advancing our organization’s digital engineering capabilities. The SME will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital engineering strategy, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and mentoring teams to achieve operational excellence., * Serve as the primary expert and advisor on digital engineering practices, tools, and methodologies.

  • Develop and implement strategies to integrate Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital twins, and advanced simulation tools into engineering workflows.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of digital engineering platforms and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital engineering initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and training to engineering teams to enhance their digital engineering proficiency.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and processes for digital engineering.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and a secret level security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital engineering, systems engineering, or related discipline.
  • Deep expertise in MBSE tools and frameworks (e.g., Cameo, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Strong understanding of digital twin technology, data integration, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) or related fields.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in digital engineering environments.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $150,000year to $`180,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
