Job description

The Administrative Support - IT Specialist is the primary contact for IT helpdesk issues including:

  • End user assistance
  • Installation of IT hardware and software
  • Data communication systems
  • Other technical assistance

The IT specialist also assists in other IT projects as assigned by Administrator - IT System or Administrator - IT Network

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • User support and customer service on AID supported computer applications and platforms. Troubleshoot problems and advise on the appropriate action.
  • Primary contact for help desk issues. Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Research questions using available information resources
  • Advise user on appropriate action
  • Identify and respond to situations requiring urgent attention
  • Follow standard help desk procedures, logging all projects, tasks and assignments
  • Assist in maintenance and development of AID software.
  • Responsible for managing Essential Learning system.
  • Assist user issues with electronic client record
  • Assist in planning and implementation of IT projects
  • Provide support to end users of software
  • Create and test images for PC’s. Install images to other PC’s
  • Assist with the setup, move and configure PC’s, hardware and software for users
  • Assist with maintaining of inventory of all IT equipment
  • Assist in maintenance of phone systems: add phones, voice mails and assist with phone switch maintenance
  • Assist with hardware troubleshooting: Routers, switches and other data/telecommunications equipment
  • Maintain and collect money from AID Payphones
  • Provide backup to Administrator - IT Systems Provide backup to Administrator - IT Network

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience: 2 years of IT Experience preferred Physical:

  • Ability to do computer data entry
  • Ability to lift IT hardware for installation (up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, etc. for installation of IT hardware

Equipment:

  • PC’s, Printers and audio-visual equipment
  • Networking equipment: Routers, switches, servers, etc.
  • Office Equipment (copy machine, calculator, shredder, keyboard, scanner, FAX, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  • Competency with word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
  • Flexible hours.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, computer, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • User of employee personal automobile
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Automobile liability insurance sufficient to meet minimum requirements as defined in AID’s Personnel Policies
  • Attend in-service trainings as required
  • Interact with clients, staff and visitors in a professional manner.
