Job description

As the IT Helpdesk Technician, you provide support and maintenance for Midwest Petroleum’s computers, tablets, printers, and any other hardware/software. Helpdesk Technicians will also install, repair, and upgrade company hardware and software as needed. Helpdesk Techs will utilize a ticketing system to help manage any reported issues or scheduled updates/repairs. Helpdesk techs must analyze issues, isolate problems, and implement solutions. If solutions can’t be resolved quickly, they will escalate the problem to the next tier. While also adhering to all other IT Service Management processes and procedures. Making visits to Midwest Petroleum Stations to help with any issues that can’t be fixed virtually. Researching and testing new programs and applications to ensure successful launches or updates., · Provide technical support across the company via in person, or the phone, traveling off site to stations

· Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics

· Updating computer software. As well as upgrading hardware and systems.

· Test and evaluate new technology by:

o Preforming diagnostic tests

o Preform test on new hardware and software

o Defining software, hardware, and network requirements

o Troubleshoot hardware and software issues

· Improves client references by writing and maintaining documentation. Or assisting/Informing training staff of new processes or equipment

· Resolving logged errors in a timely manner

· Work well with other member of the IT and Maintenance Departments to help fix complicated issues

· Follow-up with customers to ensure issues are resolved

· Monitoring compliance with service agreements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.

1-5 years experience in It support or related fields.
