Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team! In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, supporting end-users, and maintaining the health of our computer infrastructure. Your energetic approach and technical expertise will ensure seamless operation of hardware, software, and network systems across the organization. - Troubleshoot hardware issues including computer hardware failures and equipment malfunctions.
- Resolve software problems related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), applications, and help desk tickets efficiently.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory and assist with account provisioning and deactivation.
- Support network connectivity issues by troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems, DNS configurations, TCP/IP settings, VPN access, firewall configurations, and network equipment like Meraki devices.
- Utilize help desk systems such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy to track incidents, document resolutions, and escalate issues as needed.
- Assist with IT infrastructure management including Windows Server environments, SCCM deployment, GPO configuration, and computer management tasks., Join us as a Desktop Support Specialist to be a vital part of our IT team! Requirements
- Proven experience in technical support or help desk roles with a strong understanding of IT support best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with troubleshooting software applications.
- Solid knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, LAN/WAN architecture, and network administration.
- Experience supporting Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with help desk ticket management tools like Jira or ServiceNow for efficient issue tracking.
- Knowledge of Active Directory management and group policy objects (GPO) configuration.
- Understanding of IT security protocols including firewall management and remote access solutions like VPNs.
- Analysis skills to diagnose complex technical problems quickly and accurately while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
