Job description

Under the general supervision of the IT Director / Assistant IT Director, the Systems Administrator supports hardware, software, and networking issues as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security., 1. Assist in the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies.

  1. Assist with the optimization of system operation and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

  2. Monitor network performance and security to ensure optimal uptime and identify improvements and troubleshooting opportunities

  3. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

  4. Assist in the Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Nutanix virtual environments.

  5. Monitor backup system and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

  6. Manage Windows Servers, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.

  7. Patch and update network hardware and software systems with the latest security patches and software versions.

  8. Maintain security policies to prevent unauthorized access to company resources and ensures compliance with industry standards and best practices.

  9. Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.

  10. Assist in network administration tasks like configuring routers, switches, and firewalls.

  11. Other duties as assigned within the scope and complexity of the current responsibilities.

  12. Must attend any mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director, including Title 31.

Physical requirements:

Typically the employee may stand for long periods to do the work. However the work will require physical exertion such as recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computers and monitors.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Virtualization tools?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, preferred.

  • At least 4 years of experience in network administration and support.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory configuration, SQL Server administration, and virtualization technologies required.
  • CNE, CNA, MCSA or MCSE certification - Preferred or equivalent through experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license through the Bay Mills Gaming Commission and maintain eligibility throughout employment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Project leadership ability.
  • Previous work experience, demonstrating analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and make independent prioritization of user requests under limited direction.
  • Previous experience in training individuals in the use of software applications and operating systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer products, hardware, software, and network configuration.
