Job description
The Integrations Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining system integrations that support Aton Health’s operational, research, and clinical workflows.
This role manages integrations between internal applications and external partner systems, including phlebotomy networks, sponsor platforms, medical groups, CRM systems, and other operational technologies. The Integrations Engineer ensures data flows are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business and operational requirements.
This role is also expected to contribute to Aton Health’s evolving AI-first technology strategy by identifying opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools, automation, and intelligent workflows to improve integration development, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency. Success in this role requires a commitment to continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of AI-assisted development, automation, and system optimization.
Success in this role is defined by stable and timely integrations, reduced manual intervention, improved data accuracy, and effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
Integration Design & Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain API-based integrations between internal systems and external partners
- Support integrations with:
- Phlebotomy networks
- Sponsor systems
- Medical groups
- CRM and operational platforms
- Internal applications and workflows
- Define integration requirements, data mappings, and transformation logic
- Deliver integration milestones aligned with company priorities and timelines
API & Data Management
- Develop and maintain secure, scalable API integrations
- Monitor API performance, reliability, and data synchronization
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data mismatches, and connectivity issues
- Ensure integrations support accurate and timely data exchange
AI Enablement & Continuous Improvement
- Support the Company’s AI-first technology approach by leveraging AI-enabled development and operational tools where appropriate
- Identify opportunities to automate integration workflows, monitoring, testing, and support processes using AI-assisted technologies
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and integration best practices to improve scalability, reliability, and development efficiency
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development related to AI-enabled engineering, automation, and integration technologies
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for responsible and practical adoption of AI capabilities across operational and technology workflows
Platform Reliability & Operational Support
- Monitor integration health and proactively address issues impacting downstream systems or users
- Reduce manual intervention required for integration-related workflows
- Support batch and real-time integration processes where applicable
- Coordinate issue resolution across internal teams and external partners
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Research Operations, Business Development, Technology, and external vendors to support operational workflows
- Translate operational requirements into technical integration solutions
- Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment activities with stakeholders
- Communicate integration status, risks, and dependencies clearly
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure integrations meet internal security, access control, and compliance requirements
- Support audit readiness through proper logging, traceability, and documentation
- Identify and mitigate risks related to integration reliability and data exchange
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain clear documentation for:
- API configurations
- Integration workflows
- Data mappings
- Error handling and escalation procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve integration scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
Requirements
Do you have experience in Teamwork?, * Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in systems integration, software engineering, or a related role
- Experience designing and supporting API-based integrations
- Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, and data exchange standards
- Experience integrating external partner systems and operational platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with CRM systems and operational workflows is preferred
- Interest in AI-enabled engineering tools, workflow automation, and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies
- Familiarity with healthcare or regulated environments is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, * Python: 3 years (Required)
