Job description

JCM Telecom is looking for a motivated IT Field Technician who has a solid foundation in servers, networking, and data center environments and is excited to expand their skill set into telecommunications and managed IT services.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow alongside a fast-paced technology company.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows servers and network infrastructure.
  • Perform server migrations, hardware installations, and rack-and-stack projects in data centers.
  • Diagnose and resolve networking issues (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
  • Support business IT environments both remotely and onsite.
  • Learn and assist with:
  • Business phone systems (VoIP)
  • Structured cabling (Cat6, fiber, patch panels)
  • Internet circuit installations
  • Security cameras and access control systems
  • Document work performed and communicate professionally with clients.
  • Work closely with senior technicians on larger deployments.

Requirements

Required

  • Experience with Windows Servers and Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with server hardware and data center best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work in server rooms or construction environments when needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Cisco, or similar networking equipment.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications (or willingness to obtain them).
