Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Field Technician to join our team on a contractor basis. As an IT Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting to our clients. The workload for this position may vary from day to day, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment. The successful candidate will need to have their own transportation and will be reimbursed for mileage for distances over 30 miles., Provide on-site technical support to clients, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network connectivity, and peripheral device installation.

  • Conduct regular maintenance and repair of computer systems, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment as required.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure software applications and operating systems.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of networks, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document all client interactions, including problem identification, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the IT field.

Requirements

Previous experience as an IT Field Technician or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet client needs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment when required., Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Hold Atlanta Low Voltage License, * IT support: 1 year (Preferred)
