Library Associate - Technical Services

The Library Associate - Technical Services processes library materials, manages departmental supplies, and performs other related Technical Services duties., * Provides exceptional customer service to external and internal customers. Responds to and resolves patron questions or concerns.

• Processes new library materials to prepare them for distribution and circulation.
• Updates MARC records and performs copy cataloging of materials as assigned.
• Requests departmental supplies; maintains inventory and organization of equipment and supplies.
• Repairs, mends, or repackages library materials.
• Assists with other Technical Services functions as required.
• Participates in the library’s ongoing training program.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Assists in other library departments as needed.
• Works evenings and weekends as required.
• Performs all other related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree; 1-2 years of library or clerical experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and office equipment.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license., * Frequently required to perform basic physical activities and communicate effectively to carry out essential job duties.
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 10 lb. objects regularly.
• Correctable vision sufficient to read monitors, labels, and drive safely.
