Job description

We’re looking for a Network Assistant to support our maintenance team in the gas Transmission department. The role is office based in Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the potential for hybrid working. The role plays an important part in helping SGN deliver a key maintenance contract in Northern Ireland for a long establish client. This is an administrative position which focuses on ensuring accurate billing information is submitted on time each month in line with contractual KPIs. You will be in a professional client facing role, supporting a multi-disciplined maintenance and project delivery team. At SGN, we deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to the communities we serve.   • Prioritising workload to the business and our client’s needs
  • Providing management information for monthly reporting
  • Leading on administrative support activities under the control of the Maintenance Manager
  • Lead responsibility for the processing and tracking of maintenance purchase orders, invoices, and receipting.
  • Liaising with maintenance and project Team Managers, and providing support to multi-disciplined operational teams across Northern Ireland
  • Arranging regular meetings with our key client and internal commercial department to review and justify monthly billing output
  • Leading on environmental, facilities, and property management of the Antrim depot

Requirements

What You’ll NeedWe’re seeking a motivated and analytical person who combines technical capability with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You’ll bring:

  • A sound awareness and familiarity with finance, budgets and accruals, with an appropriate attention to detail
  • The ability to think clearly under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on safety
  • Strong organisational, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
  • The honesty and integrity required to build trust amongst the team, with the confidence to take the lead on identifying solutions to any challenges
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work, with good communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience using general Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, and Teams), and a particular attention for detail
  • Experience of commercial purchasing software such as BORIS would be highly beneficial (although full training will be provided)
