Job description

You will serve as the critical link between Engineering and Manufacturing by supporting production, creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, solving process issues, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous improvement throughout the factory.

What You’ll Do

Manufacturing Support

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to Production, Test, and Quality.
  • Be a visible presence on the manufacturing floor supporting operators and supervisors.
  • Resolve manufacturing issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with new product introductions (NPI), prototype builds, and engineering changes.
  • Improve manufacturing processes for safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Documentation & Process Development

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
  • Create visual process documentation and assembly procedures.
  • Maintain controlled manufacturing documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation accurately reflects current production processes.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with the Quality team to investigate production issues and root causes.
  • Participate in failure analysis and process improvement activities.
  • Identify recurring manufacturing issues and implement permanent solutions.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO requirements and customer specifications.

Test & Engineering Support

  • Support engineering verification testing and process validation.
  • Help transition new products smoothly into production.

Production Liaison

  • Serve as the communication bridge between Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Translate engineering changes into practical production solutions.
  • Train production personnel on new processes and work instructions.
  • Work closely with supervisors to improve workflow and eliminate bottlenecks.

Requirements

This is not a desk engineering position. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment, works side-by-side with Production, Quality, and Test, and takes ownership of improving how products are built., * Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, cable assemblies, or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Experience

  • ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 experience
  • SMT and through-hole manufacturing
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma methodologies
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Corrective Action (CAPA)
  • Electronics troubleshooting
  • ERP/MRP systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite, * Loves solving problems.
  • Enjoys being on the manufacturing floor.
  • Builds relationships with operators and supervisors.
  • Can explain technical information clearly.
  • Writes excellent work instructions.
  • Thinks like an engineer but communicates like a trainer.
