Job description

ENERCON’s Nuclear Services Group is currently hiring. As a Principal Protection & Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of utility Protection & Control (P&C) engineering design packages that include drawings such as one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC/DC Elementary diagrams, circuit schedules, logic diagrams, operating diagrams, and more. This position can be based in any ENERCON office, or remote within the US. #LI-MB1 #remote, Imagine a day where you’re engineering the systems that keep nuclear power plants running safely, collaborating across technical teams to bring complex designs to life.   • Design & Engineering: Development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC schematics, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, control house layouts, wiring/connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials. Development of input / output list (Point Data Sheet)
  • Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinate with nuclear power plants Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence. Participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain trusted relationships with current or prospective clients. Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers; respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner
  • Leadership & Independence: Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to less experienced engineers. Perform assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Manager of Engineering and/or Lead Engineer on unusual or complex projects #LI-PJS, The compensation range listed is a good-faith estimate of the compensation expected for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, geographic location, and internal equity. Some positions may be performed remotely in one or more U.S. states. Compensation is aligned with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects expected compensation at the time of posting. Requirements

Do you have a valid Fundamentals of Engineering license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering?, * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineer (BSEE) with a power systems focus

  • 10+ years of experience with developing complete utility P&C engineering design packages, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials
  • Preferred - Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) License and desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic
  • Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Strong familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards
  • Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be proficient with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings
