Job description

This is Principal Software Engineering position at VP which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you will do

  • Information Controls Technology builds and executes complex surveillance models and scenarios focused on monitoring and enforcing the firms communications compliance. A Senior Business Analyst in this space partners with developers and drives the business agenda through strong requirements analysis and execution.
  • The eCommunications Surveillance program within Information Controls Technology is transitioning from a legacy platform to a modern technology stack. The individual in this role will collaborate with an external vendor to understand the new product and align existing workflows and surveillance scenarios with the updated framework. This includes knowledge of monitoring use cases across audio and electronic communications.
  • Experience working with unstructured data and large scale data analytics is highly beneficial including skills in regex NLP and AI based filtering. The role also requires experience extracting data from SaaS platforms transforming it for on premise reporting and working closely with Compliance to achieve targeted surveillance outcomes.
  • The ideal candidate is self driven adaptable and able to work effectively with both technical and non technical audiences. The candidate should respond well to change learn new concepts quickly and develop new approaches to solve complex challenges. Strong analytical technical and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The role is responsible for defining project objectives scope and quality controls throughout the project life cycle including refining business requirements and creating fully defined user stories.
  • The individual will be hands on with data to support solution development and identify issues and opportunities.
  • The role operates within a global virtual team and may require collaboration across multiple time zones.
  • Document business and functional requirements including workflows business rules and use cases
  • Understand and document data requirements for surveillance scenarios and monitoring solutions
  • Develop fully detailed user stories and supporting documentation
  • Analyze data to support solution design and identify risks issues and opportunities
  • Partner closely with technology teams vendors and Compliance stakeholders
  • Create and maintain clear structured documentation for various audiences.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst gathering, documenting, and validating requirements.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to technology and business leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of communications compliance domain.
  • Familiarity of communications compliance solutions.
  • Data analysis and the ability to gain and present insights from data.

Benefits & conditions

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 150,000 and 210000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
