Job description
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN solutions.
- Manage remote access and site-to-site VPN connectivity for employees and business partners.
- Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Deploy, maintain, and support VMware virtual infrastructure and virtual machines.
- Monitor and maintain network, server, and endpoint security, including firewall rules and antivirus solutions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and end-user issues across the organization.
- Manage desktop imaging, software deployment, updates, and lifecycle management.
- Oversee backup systems, disaster recovery planning, and recovery testing.
- Monitor SAN storage and assist with capacity planning and upgrades.
- Maintain datacenter equipment including racks, servers, UPS systems, cooling systems, and cabling.
- Lead infrastructure upgrade planning and technology recommendations.
- Manage hardware, software, licensing, vendor relationships, and technology purchasing.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, system documentation, SOPs, and asset inventories.
- Develop, review, and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
Required Technical Skills
- Cisco networking (ASA Firewalls, Catalyst Switches, Routers)
- VPN configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Network routing, switching, ACLs, and security
- Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS
- Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365 administration
- VMware vSphere/ESXi and virtualization
- SAN storage and datacenter infrastructure
- Desktop imaging, patching, and endpoint security
- Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network and server environments.
- Experience with Cisco networking, Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, VPNs, and firewall administration.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and project management skills.

The Network/Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, security, and support of the organization’s network, server, virtualization, and desktop infrastructure. This role serves as the primary technical resource for all network and systems operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology services that support laboratory operations and business objectives.
