Data Center Technician

• Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-speed data transmission.
• Troubleshoot and repair telecommunications equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, VoIP solutions, and network wiring issues.
• Conduct network installation tasks including Ethernet setup, cable termination, and testing using diagnostic tools like Ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment.
• Manage equipment troubleshooting for computer hardware, network devices, and electrical systems (AC/DC) to minimize downtime.
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret system layouts for efficient service delivery.
• Perform CCTV system setup and maintenance along with radio frequency (RF) testing to support security and communication protocols.
• Assist with power tools, hand tools, and electrical safety procedures aligned with NEC standards during installation or repair activities.
• Support customer service initiatives by providing technical assistance on telecommunication systems and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication system installation.

• Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar data center environment involving network installation, equipment repair, or telecommunications testing.
• Hands-on knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet cabling, and network wiring practices.
• Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems, structured cabling standards (such as NEC compliance), and telecommunications systems like VoIP and telephony solutions.
• Experience working with Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya communication systems, or similar networking hardware is highly preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters for circuit testing and troubleshooting electrical issues effectively.
• Strong understanding of fiber splicing techniques along with fiber optic system installation procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and service manuals accurately for efficient system setup or repair activities.
• Prior experience working with telecommunication wiring standards including Cat5/Cat6 cables and cable termination processes.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
