Job description
The Technical Product Owner (TPO) serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, customers, and software development teams. This role is responsible for defining product requirements, managing the product backlog, prioritizing technical and business initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable software solutions that align with organizational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Ownership
- Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and strategic priorities.
- Partner with executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities
- and product enhancements.
- Prioritize features, enhancements, technical debt, and platform investments based on business value and customer impact.
- Own product lifecycle from concept through deployment and adoption.
- Agile Product Management
- Serve as Product Owner within Agile development teams.
- Maintain, prioritize, and groom the product backlog.
- Develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and product demonstrations.
- Accept completed work and ensure deliverables meet business requirements.
- Technical Leadership
- Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, DevOps, and QA teams.
- Understand and influence system architecture, APIs, integrations, databases, and data workflows.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs and provide guidance on solution design.
- Prioritize technical debt reduction and platform modernization initiatives.
- Support application scalability, security, performance, and reliability objectives.
- Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
- Gather and validate requirements from customers, users, and business stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Present product strategies, roadmaps, and delivery updates to leadership teams.
- Drive alignment across business, operations, technology, and customer-facing teams.
- Data & Analytics
- Define product KPIs and success metrics.
- Leverage data and customer feedback to drive product decisions.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improved user experience.
- Support reporting, dashboarding, and data-driven product enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or related experience.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with APIs, databases, system integrations, and enterprise applications.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Remote and Hybrid positions require internet connectivity speeds that meet the Company’s upload and download requirements.
Preferred:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with SaaS platforms and cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of SQL, data analytics, and reporting tools.
- Healthcare, revenue cycle, financial services, or enterprise software experience.
- Experience managing complex data-driven products and integrations.
