Job description
The Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment used in electronic assembly processes. This role performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Thru-Hole, Conformal Coat, process-related, and facility equipment to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. The Engineering Technician supports equipment installations, assists engineering with process development and experiments, maintains accurate documentation, and completes assigned projects in a timely manner. Success in this role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment., * Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all Surface Mount, Thru-Hole, Conformal Coat, and process-related and facilities equipment.
- Perform and track machine maintenance and calibration.
- Operate a scissor lift and powered pallet jack when required.
- Provide written and verbal passdowns and other information in an organized manner.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in the installation of all manufacturing equipment.
- Assist engineering in design experiments and process development.
- Be quality-conscious in all aspects of production support.
Requirements
- Proven strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
- Proficient in reading and verifying electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics/drawings.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
- Have good written and oral interpersonal skills with an ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Must be safety-oriented in the proper use of hand and power tools with an understanding of energy isolation on all equipment.
- Must be able to operate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Able to work a minimum of 10-hour shifts plus overtime when needed.
- Must be available nights or days (An assigned shift will be given).
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent educational background preferred.
- Work-related experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis., * Equipment Technician: 2 years (Required)
- SMT Equipment: 2 years (Preferred)
- Equipment repair: 2 years (Required)
