Job description

The IT Manager supports and maintains all IT facilities at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania site, equipment, and services in order to meet the needs of the departments located within the headquarters and company employees at client sites. An ideal job candidate for this Philadelphia position will have a high level of motivations and a depth of technical knowledge in order to maintain a the many aspects of the company’s infrastructure., * The IT Manager will install and configure all new applications, and perform upgrades/maintenance to systems and programs already being utilized at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania site.

  • Evaluate new technologies to incorporate into the company infrastructure at the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania location.
  • The IT Manager must oversee the acquisition of new hardware and software at the Philadelphia location.
  • Work with vendors as the main contact, negotiating contracts, bids, and partnerships.
  • The IT Manager must ensure that the company’s network is functioning optimally at all times.
  • Maintain the critical data and computer systems.
  • The IT Manager must ensure the security of the company network by constantly updating and evaluating the company’s security systems.
  • Create, review, and update all protocols about information back up and disaster recovery plans and policies.

Requirements

  • A four year degree from a college or university in the discipline of computer science or a related field.
  • At least ten years of recent job experience in a job overseeing IT infrastructure.
  • A comfortable communicator with colleagues and superiors in writing, email, in person, and over the phone.
  • A demonstrated job history of project management skills.
  • Attentiveness to organization.
  • Previous job experience working with virtual servers, Windows servers, especially MS-SQL, MS Exchange, Internet Information Server, Linux Ubuntu, Tomcat, Apache, file systems (CIFS & NFS), centralized EMC NAS Celerra storage, as well as other applications as necessary.
  • A willingness to maintain and build upon technical knowledge and skills.
  • Install and maintain the company’s T Cp/IP networks. Support all virtualizations, Cisco ASA, VLAN’s, WAN, DNS, DHCP, and client/serve technology.
  • Provide support to offsite data backups, virtual back ups.
  • Administer the email servers including routing and email filtering for spam.
  • Able to explain technical concepts to colleagues who have less technical knowledge for various jobs.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of colleagues at multiple levels of the company.
