Job description
The IT Manager oversees the company’s technology, infrastructure, and systems. The IT Manager bridges the gap between technical teams and executive leadership, ensuring that hardware, software, and networks run securely and efficiently to support the organization’s broader business goals.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Align technology with company objectives and consult with executive team on upgrades and investments.
Team Leadership
- Managing, hiring and mentoring IT staff.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Enforcing data security protocols, managing recovery plans, and maintaining system privacy.
Budgeting & Vendor Management
- Oversee department finances, negotiating software licenses, and managing third-party IT vendors.
Operations & Support
· Troubleshooting escalations, overseeing daily helpdesk operations, and ensuring minimal business downtime.
Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Coordinating routine hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and replacements so they are done timely with little to no downtime.
- Conducting system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Leading network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, Wi-Fi access problems, and basic switch/router checks.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, including tracking issuance, returns, and asset lifecycle.
Light Coding & Automation
- Develop and maintain small scripts or tools (e.g., PowerShell, batch scripts) to automate routine IT tasks.
- Maintain internal applications or systems.
System Administration Support
- Support cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams) with user onboarding and troubleshooting.
- Provide guidance with data backup processes and routine system monitoring.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and update IT documentation, including SOPs, support guides, and configuration records.
- Recommend improvements to help desk workflows, system performance, or user experience.
- Oversee/Assist IT projects such as hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and system upgrades.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Team leadership?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, · Bachelor’s degree in a tech-related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT management.
- Strong understanding of desktop hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
- Microsoft 365 administration and common business applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in information technology.
- Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Freshservice).
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs for equipment setup and movement.
- Occasional travel to local job sites or offices for technical support.
- Typical office environment with periodic hands-on hardware tasks.
