Job description

We’re looking for a friendly, hands-on IT Support Engineer (End User Computing) to join our supportive IT team in Haydock. You’ll play a key role in helping colleagues across the business with everything from day-to-day support to exciting new technology rollouts.

If you enjoy solving problems, take pride in great customer service, and want to develop your skills in a collaborative, people-first environment - we’d love to hear from you. What you’ll be doing

As part of our End User Computing team, you’ll:

  • Resolve incidents and service requests raised through the Service Desk
  • Ensure all issues are resolved within agreed SLAs
  • Install, rebuild, repair, and upgrade PCs, laptops, Wyse terminals and peripherals
  • Support Cisco telephony systems and local area networks
  • Manage Microsoft Intune, device management, and patching across all laptops and desktops
  • Assist with new office setups, relocations, and hardware rollouts
  • Work with Supply Chain and external partners to ensure the right equipment is always available
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow change control procedures
  • Support and share knowledge with colleagues across IT

Every day will bring something different - from helping new starters get set up to keeping critical systems running smoothly.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about technology and enjoys helping others. You’ll bring a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in an End User Support or Desktop Support environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10, and Citrix
  • Understanding of local area networking and patching
  • Experience with PCs, Wyse terminals, printers, and telephony equipment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel to other Speedy sites when needed
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-focused approach

Experience with budgets, purchase orders, or commercial processes would be a plus, but not essential - what matters most is your enthusiasm and drive to deliver great service. What we offer

Benefits & conditions

At Speedy, we care about your wellbeing, your growth, and your future. When you join us, you’ll become part of a welcoming team where your ideas are valued and your contribution makes a difference.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Overtime available
  • Life assurance
  • Pension scheme
  • Canteen facilities
  • 95% discount across the Speedy brand
  • Opportunities for training, development, and career progression
  • My Staff Shop: discounts and offers for shopping across many suppliers
  • Green Commute Initiative: cycle-to-work scheme
  • PAM - Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): free and confidential wellbeing, legal, and financial support
  • Speedy’s Career Line of Sight: a clear understanding of your path for progression and growth within the Speedy Group

We’re proud to offer an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
