Job description
Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge satellite communication solutions? Our client is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their Defence & Space division in Portsmouth, working across innovative projects spanning land, sea and air domains., As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and leading various elements of the systems engineering life-cycle. You will identify stakeholders, capture and validate requirements, and define solution boundaries. You will design system architectures, conduct modelling and performance analysis, and lead trade-off decisions to select optimal solutions. You’ll also manage interface requirements, drive verification and validation activities, and support system integration and operational evaluation throughout the product life-cycle.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (as recognised by IET)
- Strong experience across systems engineering lifecycle activities (requirements, architecture, verification & validation)
- Ability to apply structured systems engineering methodologies
- Experience analysing and translating stakeholder needs into technical solutions
- Strong understanding of system design, integration, and lifecycle management
- Ability to obtain or hold SC clearance
Desirable:
- Knowledge of military standards
- Experience with military satellite communications systems
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
