Job description

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused IT Workshop Technician to join our growing team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll diagnose, repair and configure a wide range of IT equipment and consumer technology while delivering exceptional service to private customers and small businesses.

From repairing laptops and Apple devices to building new PCs, removing malware, supporting customers at our retail counter and providing technical advice, no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our workshop team, you’ll:

  • Diagnose and repair Windows PCs, laptops, Macs and Apple devices.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and macOS.
  • Replace and upgrade hardware including SSDs, RAM, batteries, displays and other components.
  • Remove malware and optimise computer performance.
  • Configure printers, networks and other connected devices.
  • Build and configure new computer systems for customers.
  • Carry out repairs on tablets, mobile phones and games consoles (where experienced).
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers in person, over the phone and via email.
  • Explain technical issues clearly and recommend the most appropriate solutions.
  • Manage repair jobs from booking through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate repair records, workshop documentation and stock control.
  • Help ensure our workshop remains organised, efficient and professional.

Requirements

Are you an experienced IT Technician who enjoys solving problems, repairing technology and helping customers?, You’ll have a passion for technology, excellent fault-finding skills and enjoy delivering outstanding customer service.

You should have:

  • Experience repairing Windows PCs and laptops.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and Apple macOS.
  • Experience diagnosing hardware faults and replacing components.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience removing malware and improving system performance.
  • Knowledge of printers, peripherals and networking.
  • Previous experience in an IT support, workshop or helpdesk environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in plain English.
  • A friendly, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence., * Loves solving technical problems.
  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs.
  • Enjoys working directly with customers.
  • Is organised, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is keen to learn new technologies and continually develop your skills.
