PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) - ( Hybrid Model Mount Laurel NJ)

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support database administration, Azure cloud database deployments, and performance optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong PostgreSQL administration experience, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure database services, and the ability to work closely with development teams to improve database performance and reliability. Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable., * Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL databases in Microsoft Azure.

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and secure PostgreSQL environments.

• Perform database setup, migration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity using industry-standard monitoring tools.

• Work closely with application developers to troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries.

• Analyze execution plans and implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies.

• Configure database security, user roles, permissions, and auditing.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting where appropriate.

• Support database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot production database issues and provide timely resolution.

• Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

• 10+ years of PostgreSQL Database Administration experience.

• Hands-on experience deploying and managing PostgreSQL databases on Microsoft Azure.

• Strong expertise in SQL, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

• Experience with backup and recovery strategies, replication, and high availability.

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.

• Experience with Linux administration.

• Familiarity with scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NICE Actimize applications or environments.

• Banking or financial services domain experience.

• Knowledge of Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Flexible Server), Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, and Azure networking.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM/Bicep) is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
