Job description

Primarily responsible for routine data center maintenance and basic server management, with foundational knowledge of network theory. Work closely with the team to support data center tasks.

Responsibilities

· Conduct daily on-site inspections in the data center to ensure basic server and network infrastructure stability.

· Follow established SOPs to maintain safety and compliance.

· Manage tasks and incident reports through the ticketing system.

· Identify and replace faulty server components.

· Read and understand basic SEL (System Event Log) entries to troubleshoot common server errors.

· Use BMC/IPMI or similar tools for basic remote hardware monitoring and diagnosis.

· Assist with firmware upgrades, patch management, and simple configuration tasks.

· Help with basic cabling tasks, including fiber and copper installation, labeling, and simple testing.

· Participate in server and network device rack-mounting, ensuring accurate placement and documentation.

Requirements

· 0-2 years of experience in data center or related fields, proficient in server hardware maintenance and basic network configuration/troubleshooting.

· Understand the concepts of OSI Layers 1 to 4 to assist in troubleshooting physical layer issues (e.g., cable or port failures).

· Foundational understanding of server hardware and basic network environments to assist in troubleshooting and component replacements.

· Some familiarity with data center infrastructure, including cooling, power, and safety compliance.

· Basic reading and writing proficiency in English and Chinese.

· Able to lift and install equipment weighing around 25 lbs.

· Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Excel, Word).

· Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields (or equivalent experience).

· Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced data center environment.

· Preferred to hold or be working towards relevant network or server certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
