Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Records Specialist / Electronic Health Record (EHR) Specialist, where your expertise will be vital in managing and safeguarding patient information with precision and care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of medical records while supporting seamless healthcare delivery. You will be at the forefront of health information management, utilizing cutting-edge EHR systems to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will directly contribute to maintaining compliance with health information regulations and optimizing revenue cycle processes., * Manage electronic health records (EHR) and medical records with meticulous accuracy, ensuring all data is complete, current, and compliant with healthcare privacy protection standards.
- Input, update, and retrieve patient information efficiently using various EHR and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems to support clinical workflows.
- Verify patient identities and ensure confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses for billing and reimbursement purposes.
- Maintain organized records management practices, including scanning, indexing, and archiving paper-based documents when necessary.
- Support revenue cycle management by ensuring correct documentation for billing processes and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting staff, patients, and external partners with record requests while adhering to healthcare privacy protection protocols.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication tasks.
- Strong knowledge of health information management principles, including medical terminology, medical coding, and records management.
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech, along with experience in EMR/EHR management workflows.
- Understanding of health regulation policies related to healthcare privacy protection (e.g., HIPAA compliance).
- Experience in medical office settings or healthcare environments that involve handling sensitive medical records.
- Ability to navigate health information regulatory compliance standards confidently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with a proactive attitude toward maintaining accurate health information documentation., * This position is Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays, offering either a 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM schedule; are you able to work either of these shifts consistently?, * Front Medical Office : 1 year (Required)
