Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Desktop Technician with a strong focus on hardware support to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and related hardware components. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, providing exceptional technical support to users across various departments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting organizational productivity., * Diagnose and resolve hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals to minimize downtime.

  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and installations efficiently to optimize device performance.
  • Troubleshoot software conflicts and hardware malfunctions using tools such as help desk systems and remote support applications.
  • Support operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux by installing updates, configuring settings, and resolving compatibility issues.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory management tools; assist with password resets and account access issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of all support tickets, repairs, and hardware inventories using customer support ticket management systems.
  • Collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot connectivity issues involving LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of computer hardware in accordance with organizational standards and security policies.
  • Support the deployment of new equipment by imaging devices, installing necessary software, and ensuring proper network connectivity.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with end-users regarding technical issues and solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a focus on hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, GPO (Group Policy Objects), and TCP communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), macOS, and Linux distributions.
  • Familiarity with help desk systems for ticket management and tracking incident resolution progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM modules, power supplies, and peripherals.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices including smartphones and tablets across various platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to analyze problems quickly and implement effective solutions efficiently under pressure.
