Job description

We are hiring a Technical Lead to oversee our geospatial data processing pipeline and interactive mapping engine. You will guide technical architecture decisions, manage spatial data ingestion at scale, and lead a team of backend and frontend developers building map-centric applications.

Key Responsibilities Lead the architectural design and deployment of spatial data pipelines and vector tile rendering services. Oversee geospatial data normalization, coordinate transformations, and spatial database optimizations. Establish team-wide engineering standards, conduct code/PR reviews, and mentor team members. Integrate open-source mapping libraries with backend microservices.

Requirements

Requirements Geospatial Expertise: 4+ years working with spatial mapping technologies like GeoServer, MapLibre GL, Leaflet, or OpenLayers. Spatial Databases: Expert-level mastery of PostGIS / PostgreSQL spatial indexing and vector queries. Backend Stack: Strong proficiency in Python, Geopandas, and RESTful API frameworks. Technical Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading engineering projects, reviewing pull requests, and mentoring team members. Data Processing: Experience building automated ingestion workflows and background processing pipelines.
