Job description

Under the direction and supervision of the Performance Innovation Specialist, the Performance Innovation Assistant will provide essential support in the execution of the Performance Innovation department’s operations and projects. This role is focused on assisting with the coordination and management of daily department activities and contributing to business operations, project management, and event efforts., * Assist in the administration of the Performance Innovation Fund grant program through project tracking and coordination with USOPC and NGB staff

  • Support Performance Innovation projects through coordination, documentation, and follow-up
  • Help organize and maintain Performance Innovation resources to support knowledge sharing across the Movement
  • Support planning and execution of forums, summits, and other opportunities for collaboration across the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Movement
  • Serve as a resource to ensure USOPC and NGB stakeholders are aware of how to engage Performance Innovation expertise, services, and programs

Performance Innovation Thought Partnership Support (30%)

  • Research and synthesize current trends, tools, and vendors in AI and video analysis
  • Assist in evaluating how AI, video, and data solutions could integrate into high performance environments
  • Draft frameworks, summaries, and one-pagers to support decision-making and internal alignment
  • Support engagement with USOPC and NGB staff, coaches, and athletes to understand performance innovation needs and help translate insights into potential opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Sports Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of administrative work experience in project coordination, research, consulting-style work, or technical environments
  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to translate inputs into clear outputs (summaries, frameworks, next steps)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to build rapport with teams across different functions
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to deliver high-quality work under deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in sports technology or data analytics
  • Interest in how technology translates into real-world performance impact

  • Some domestic and international travel may be required
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential job function
