Job description

A Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing an organization’s computer networks to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations. This role involves configuring network hardware, troubleshooting connectivity issues, monitoring performance, and implementing improvements to support business needs., * Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage network security by applying patches, maintaining firewalls, monitoring intrusion attempts, and enforcing security policies.
  • Support LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure across multiple locations.
  • Perform network capacity planning, performance tuning, and upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation for network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support servers, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • Maintain and support DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.
  • Provide technical support for end users and escalate issues when needed.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and backup processes related to network infrastructure.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve network stability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with network technologies like Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network protocols.
  • Knowledge of firewall configuration and network security principles.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, CCNP, Security+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with VOIP systems.
  • Experience supporting remote access solutions (VPN, RDP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN and modern network architectures.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
