Job description
This IT Project Manager position reports to the UIT Project Management Office (UIT PMO), working with technical project managers in multidisciplinary teams to complete University-wide technology projects. These include Discovery and Implementation projects for enterprise applications and system integrations across areas such as:
- Collaboration or content management
- Cloud services
- Data analytics and reporting
- Research computing
- Information security or privacy
Responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple large and complex technical projects
- Leveraging project management best practices to drive continuous improvement
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes
- Balancing stakeholder interests with professionalism and independent judgment
Focus: ~80% project leadership, ~20% technical contribution Types of projects: Vendor selection and implementation, SaaS projects, development, IT infrastructure projects, application upgrades
Other duties may also be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in a related field
- 8-10 years of related experience in managing projects of extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting
- Or a combination of education and relevant experience

- Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
- Knowledge of project management tools and SDLC
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience developing and maintaining complex project plans with WBS
- Experience in people, change, risk, and conflict management
- Ability to build relationships and motivate cross-functional teams
- Ability to align technical needs with business goals
- Leadership, negotiation, persuasion, facilitation skills
- Ability to navigate stressful situations and make/negotiated decisions
- Experience with MS Office, Smartsheet, ServiceNow PPM, Zoom, Slack
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle HCM, PeopleSoft Student/HR Administration
- Experience managing IT infrastructure, applications, and system integrations
- Knowledge of QA/testing practices
- Knowledge of data integration across platforms
- Understanding of web application architecture, system architectures, application integration, object-oriented languages
Certifications and Licenses
- PMP certification strongly desired

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
