Job description
DigMod is currently looking for a Network Operations Specialist I to support the Network and Cabling Infrastructure (NetCI) Program for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance enterprise network services throughout the Hampton Roads region. The Network Operations Specialist provides operational network support for the Joint Staff JPH network environment at the Norfolk site. The role supports continuous network monitoring, incident response, ticket management, and routine operational maintenance activities.
Network Monitoring and Incident Response
- Monitor enterprise network infrastructure and respond to operational alerts, alarms, and service degradation events.
- Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, and escalation in accordance with operational procedures.
- Investigate connectivity issues affecting endpoints, network devices, or services.
Service Management
- Create, update, and resolve ServiceNow tickets with complete technical documentation.
- Track incident status and ensure tickets are updated through resolution and closure.
- Maintain responsiveness standards for operational support requests.
Operational Network Support
- Support IP address management activities and endpoint connectivity troubleshooting.
- Assist with configuration validation, firmware updates, and routine maintenance activities.
- Support compliance verification activities including STIG validation tasks when directed.
Operational Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams during troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in Government operational meetings and provide status updates on assigned work items.
- Assist the X001 Section Lead in maintaining operational awareness across the network
- environment.
Requirements
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
- HS Diploma (or equivalent) & 1-3 years of prior relevant experience.
- CompTIA Security+ required (DoD 8570 IAT II).
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Cisco network infrastructure.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and enterprise ticketing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceNow preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with VoIP/VTC collaboration systems
- Knowledge and experience with Multicast and GRE Routing
- Knowledge and experience with data center networking
- Experience with firewalls and firewall rule sets
- Understanding of network virtualization
