Job description

The Functional SAP tax expert (Brazil & LATAM countries) is involved in the functional design and delivery of tax determination (SAP tax determination & Tax Engine) and other tax reports (SAP & other 3rd party tools e.g. TaxOne) for Brazil and across Latin American countries. He/she ensures that global and local tax requirements are seamlessly integrated in business processes ensuring tax compliances. This role acts as a key link between our finance goals and regional tax requirements., The ERP Tax Management team acts as a technical partner, managing digital solutions for indirect tax, direct tax, and transfer pricing. This multi-cultural, dynamic group leverages a mix of complementary skills to navigate and implement new tax mandates across the globe. Their primary mission is to design standardized global templates that provide a consistent digital framework for the entire organization. Simultaneously, they must remain agile enough to adapt these templates to meet unique local requirements for different affiliates. By bridging the gap between tax law and IT systems, they ensure seamless compliance across all international entities. They are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technical mandates that protect the company’s global financial position., * System Design: Analyze business requirements to design and deliver automated tax logic using SAP Condition Technique or ONESOURCE Tax Engine for Brazil and other LATAM countries (e.g. Mexico, Argentina, Colombia)

  • Cross-Module Integration: Seamlessly integrate tax requirements across SD, MM and FI to ensure consistent tax treatment throughout the supply chain.
  • Brazil Tax Reform Implementation: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Brazilian Tax Reform, designing transition strategies to move from current models to the new VAT-style system (IBS/CBS)
  • Regulatory Reporting: Manage the technical setup for Brazilian statutory reporting (EFD-Reinf, ECD, ECF) and ensure local compliance for other LATAM jurisdictions.
  • Government Connectivity: Manage and extend electronic communication interfaces with government authorities, including NF-e (Nota Fiscal), payment files (CNAB), and bank communication protocols
  • Requirements Translation: Act as the primary liaison between the business and IT to translate complex tax laws into clear functional specifications.
  • End-to-End Testing: Leading Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all tax-related changes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Tax departments to align system capabilities with business needs and regulatory changes.
  • Production Stability: Resolve high-priority ā€œproductionā€ issues, such as tax calculation errors in high-volume environments or e-invoice (NF-e) submission failures

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on finance implementation experience, including at least 5 years of focused experience in Brazil Localization. Implementation experience in other LATAM countries is a strong advantage
  • Proven track record in configuring and deploying S/4HANA solutions with solid knowledge in cross module integration (SD/MM/FI)
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or an equivalent field of studies
  • Advanced experience in implementing SAP Tax Determination and external tax engines, especially Thomson Reuters OneSource
  • Hands-on experience with TaxOne implementation and reporting (highly preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of Brazil Tax systems and familiarity with tax complexities in other LATAM countries e.g. Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written & verbal) and Portuguese is a must
