Job description

We are seeking a Network Test Consultant to help validate and improve an in-house network security platform. This role is focused on testing, validation, troubleshooting, and test automation rather than product software development. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in networking, Linux, and network security, along with experience creating and executing test plans for network-based systems., * Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for network security products.

  • Validate functionality, reliability, scalability, and performance of networking features.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues across Linux systems, network switches, and related infrastructure.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with software and hardware engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform regression, integration, functional, and system testing.
  • Configure and operate network equipment in lab environments.
  • Document test procedures, findings, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in test automation and testing methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in testing networking or network security products.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, Ethernet fundamentals, and Common network protocols
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience configuring or troubleshooting enterprise network switches.
  • Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with Python or another scripting language for test automation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Arista, Cisco, Juniper, or other enterprise networking platforms.
  • Familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls, ACLs, VLANs, VPNs, and packet analysis.
  • Exposure to low-level networking implemented in C or C++.
  • Experience using packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and container technologies.
  • Experience working in hardware or networking lab environments.
