Job description

Position reports to the Google Sunnyvale, CA office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adapt test plans for product features, participating in peer reviews to ensure comprehensive coverage and alignment with overall test strategy.

  • Automate test cases and improve test infrastructure, utilizing existing scripts and creating new tools to increase engineering efficiency and product health.

  • Execute manual and automated regression tests to harden device hardware and software, ensuring the stability and quality of releases for specific product features.

  • Define and document test frameworks and control functions, enabling other engineers to effectively test new and existing product functionality.

  • Participate in product design reviews with cross-functional teams, providing input on testability, design, and implementation from a quality perspective. Identify, document, and report software and hardware bugs, escalating complex issues to senior engineers for resolution and tracking them to closure

Requirements

Experience completing work as directed, and collaborating with teammates; developing knowledge of relevant concepts and processes., + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Test Engineering-related occupation.

  • Position requires 2 years of experience in the following: Development of network test methodologies, including writing test plans, creating test cases, and designing tests to address operational constraints; Structured coding using identifiable patterns and idiomatic constructs for test automation; Application of routing and forwarding methodologies, including TCP/IP, IGP, and BGP algorithms; Network problem debugging and root cause analysis based on test results; and Documenting and visualizing test results using graphs and charts.

Benefits & conditions

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000 - $149,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
