Requirements

Decilog is seeking Software Development Engineers (must be US citizens) to join our Melville NY team developing special software applications. The candidate’s primary role is software programming, designing and developing production quality software based on predefined system software requirements. The candidate will review, analyze and modify programming systems to include designing, coding, testing, debugging, installing and documenting to support the organization’s software applications.

The candidate will implement software development in accordance with mature (well-defined) process improvement procedures established and maintained by the organization. Using mainly the Ada programming language as well as other computer languages and technologies, assignments involve the development of new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software applications. Projects include implementations employing the use of Ada and other programming languages, so knowledge of high-level strongly typed structured programming languages is mandatory. Knowledge of and experience with rehosting software applications from one computer platform to another is a plus.

Duties include software design of components, modules and/or applications, programming, implementing and unit testing, and documenting work and results. The candidate will be expected to possess any certifications or training required by Department of Defense regulations. If any requirement has not been satisfied, the candidate will be expected to obtain the necessary credentials within the generous grace period allowed by the DoD. We are seeking experienced candidates with a solid computer science B.S. degree and passion for software development., * Bachelor’s (Required)
