Job description

WebNX is seeking a skilled and proactive Computer Tech to join our team in Ogden, Utah. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic. This role involves installing computer hardware, troubleshooting issues, performing maintenance, and ensuring optimal IT system performance. A typical day involves assembling & disassembling servers, testing hardware, updating documentation, and setting up server racks with cables., * Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware.

  • Repair or replace faulty hardware components.
  • Assist with cabling and labeling of cables.
  • Identify recurring problems and suggest improvements to processes or systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, hardware, and software.
  • Move and organize pallets full of servers or other computer parts with a pallet jack.
  • Sort, test, and organize computer hardware.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with diagnosing, navigating, and troubleshooting computer hardware and/or server hardware is preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+) are preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and able to work independently.
  • Assess situations and escalate accordingly, following internal procedures, * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and stand/walk/sit/bend/push/pull/reach for extended periods.
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
  • This position demands excellent fine motor dexterity and coordination. The employee will frequently engage in precise, repetitive tasks such as moving hands and fingers to screw items and utilizing a screwdriver, requiring the steady hand needed to gently manipulate delicate computer hardware and electronic components. Essential functions involve grasping, twisting, and applying appropriate pressure to ensure the proper assembly and handling of sensitive equipment without causing damage.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights (e.g., on ladders).
  • Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
  • Ability to work in a data center environment, which may include elevated noise levels, hot/cold aisles, and airflow., * Computer hardware: 1 year (Required)
